Some of the best chinese good we've had. The chicken was so fresh and was visibly large chunks of white meat- not like any other chinese food I've ever eaten. The gentleman working and taking orders was extremely friendly and really took care of us when we were enjoying the food. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in the Bethany beach area. So Delish!

China Express Solid lunch specials. If you eat takeout Chinese, you are familiar with the lunch special. I happen to like Fried Tofu with Snow Peas - China Spicy. It is not on a lunch special or any menu anywhere, matter of fact it is not very special, it's pretty basic. However, it is what I like & lots of times when I order it, it sucks, Thus, I only get it at the place close to home. The owner takes your order @ China Express. He is super cool and runs a sharp shop. The food was prepared perfectly. I will be back. It's nice know of another tasty Chinese Takeout.

Oh how I yearn for my yearly visits back to the place I grew up at. China Express is definitely a day one stop for me. I eat here just about every day when I am visiting home. Best chinese food on the planet. I have tried places from Los Angeles to Bethany Beach and nobody does it better than Zhe and the family. I dare you, no.. I DOUBLE DARE YOU, to tell me about a better chinese spot.

Came in at 5pm on a mid-June Sunday. Three people at one table so we thought we would eat in until we noticed that all tables were reserved. We ordered the happy family with fried rice, crab rangoon and some soups. It was ready in 15 minutes. Sad to say the soups were so gelatinous to be simply inedible - way too much corn starch and no flavor. The crab rangoon was passable with the orange sauce. The happy family was a bit gluey like the soups but the flavor was good. The fried rice was OK. Sad to say, we will probably not going back.

I (and my parents) was looking forward to trying China Express for two reasons: first of all, last year during a trip to Bethany Beach, I called them to try to order dinner at around 5:30. I was told they weren't accepting any orders because they had way too many orders waiting to be filled. We thought wow, this place must have delicious food. The second reason was their 4.5/5 stars rating on Yelp! So THIS year, we ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Orange beef, and a shrimp dish. The orange beef was average, passable--pretty much okay. The Kung Pao chicken was a disaster. There was BARELY ANY chicken pieces in it. I swear, the dish was 90% vegetables and peanuts, and 10% chicken. We were sitting at the table, scraping through the container trying to find pieces of chicken. REALLY?!?! Chicken is a cheap meat, my dear--there should have been MUCH more chicken in a dish called Kung Pao CHICKEN. Ours should have been called Kung Pao veggies and peanuts. The shrimp dish was mediocre--again, there was a huge deficit of the small, sad shrimp. Like the Kung Pao dish, it was seriously lacking in its title protein. THIS dish should have been called "Find the Shrimp." I am seriously wondering why there are so many 4 and 5 star reviews of this place. Maybe these people doling out the great reviews come from an area that does not have many great Chinese restaurants? Maybe their idea of excellent Chinese means a bunch of noodles or some fried rice? Who knows? I am perplexed at the high rating here. I definitely am not planning on returning to China Express. We didn't take it too hard because the prices were not outrageous.

After sampling the area's Chinese restaurants, my wife and I have found this to be THE place. The food is consistently delicious, the owner and staff are courteous and friendly, and the prices are in line. Lots of choices for meat eaters, seafood lovers and vegetarians. They get super busy in the tourist season, so plan accordingly. Love the duck sauce in the maple syrup dispensers on each table! Funny stuff... Enjoy.

For a vacation town, I was really impressed with the quality of this Chinese food. The ingredients all appeared and tasted fresh, the dishes were delightfully tasty, and this place genuinely surprised. They have about 8 tables in the dining room and it's cramped. I decided to place a take away order and wait while it was prepared. Dealing with the host was a pain as other patrons would crowd in front of the desk. So instead of kindly moving to the side, I had to shout my order over the other guests. The host was very friendly and made sure not to forget utensils or chop stix. Only disappointment with the experience was the egg roll. Just not made with a material I would enjoy. The filling wasn't my taste. Otherwise I really loved their white meat, fresh sesame chicken, and their fried rice. Definitely a place I'll return to in future visits.

Want to love this place, but after this week they've lost my business. Walk in at 5.00pm on Monday for a table for 2 three hour wait because of supposed reservations when the place looks empty, ok the website says they don't take reservations. Fair enough, went somewhere else. So I try to order carry out tonight and I get an automated message that they cannot process any orders right now and that carryout is a two hour wait, ridiculous. The food may be good but this place obviously doesn't know how to run a business. Plenty of other options available.

This is a wonderful little place. I was intrigued by the high yelp ratings so we decided to check this place out. Beware they are closed on Tuesdays and are a small but extremely popular place so the first time I tried to order, I received a automated recording that they were too busy to accept more orders. So on my next attempt, I placed an order at 4pm to pick up at 5. I spoke to the owner who was just a wonderfully nice and helpful man. He made suggestions and offered to make my order with more vegetables if I liked. He explained what was in each dish so I could make modifications if I so desired. The vibe of the restaurant is incredibly friendly. The owner greeted people by name. The two dishes he suggested were my favorite: the orange chicken was so good. He also made us a rice noodle dish that wasn't on the menu. It was also wonderful. A few of the standard chinese take-out dishes were mild for my taste, but still very fresh and enjoyable. We will definitely try this place again next time we are in Bethany Beach! Oh, not sure what's up with the $ rating. This place was in the $$ range.

Can't believe we've been driving past this little gem for four years and never stopped in. Some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time...piping hot, fresh ingredients and all-white-meat chicken dishes. Pleasant and professional service as well. China Express is going into the regular rotation!

Everytime I visit my family in Dagsboro I have to make the trip to China Express! It's a couple towns over but definitely worth the drive. Moo Shu Pork is my go to but I have tried several things on the menu and non of them disappoint! The owners are super friendly and happy to alter dishes to your liking. I read another review about the phone having a message saying they were behind 2 hours, and couldn't take any orders. I myself received the same message. Did that stop me? No way! When a pregnant girl is craving something, she gets it!! I drove there and was willing to beg them to make my food but didn't have to. I placed my order and got my food surprisingly fast. So my advice to anyone who receives the same message I did, if you want it that bad go and order in person. They have the freshest and tastiest Chinese food that I have ever had. This place is worth checking out if you haven't done so already!

Place is clean, food is very good and staff is EXTREMELY friendly and down to Earth. Exactly everything you look for in a restaurant. I had the General Tso's chicken and loved the fact that they used 100% white meat chicken instead of the typical dark/chewy type of chicken. They definitely show that the customer is their #1 priority. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bethany Beach.

The BEST Chinese food at the beach. Even if you're not near Bethany, it's totally worth the drive. The staff is really cool and they are more then happy to accommodate your needs. The food is always very fresh and seafood dishes are cooked perfectly. Weekends in the summer are super busy and they will stop taking phone orders if the wait is too long. Get there early!

I can't wait to eat China Express again on my next visit to Bethany! It is the best food hands down - never greasy, super fresh. The owner couldn't be nicer - family owned and operated small business. Delicious sesame chicken. Everything is delicious and fresh - generous portions. Only complaint is that they're closed on Mondays =( Service is always great! Thanks Z!

Great food from great people! Small interior but we mostly get carry out. Haven't been disappointed at all. They are open to changes and customizations. The General Tso's chicken is my dish of choice. Their fried rice is simple but delicious. Def recommended!

Hands down the best Chinese food I have ever had. The owner is extremely friendly and will customize your food any way you would like it. The General Tso's chicken is amazing and uses all white meat chicken, unlike most places that use only dark meat. The shrimp egg rolls are great and full of shrimp. The duck is another excellent dish that is juicy with a nice crispy skin. I haven't had a single dish that was not top notch.

Best damn Chinese I have ever had! Soooo fresh and all the chicken was huge pieces of white meat. The owner came and greeted us and brought out some appetizers on the house. Small place so make reservations or excellent for take out.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
